The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region office partners with TESDA, POEA and PESO for the Hanapbuhay para sa TESDA Specialista Job Fair 2013.
Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz on Thursday divulged this convergence job fair project courtesy of the DOLE Regional Coordinating Council-National Capital Region, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, and the PESO Association of Metro Manila (PAMM) to cater for the 171,412 technical-vocation education graduates of TESDA-accredited training institutions in Manila.
“I am happy to announce that the DOLE’s Regional Coordinating Council in the National Capital Region, TESDA, POEA. and the PAMM have agreed to pool their resources and expertise in facilitating the employment of the tech-voc graduates of TESDA-accredited training institutions in the metropolis through a six-day series of job fairs,” Baldoz said.
The Hanapbuhay para sa TESDA Specialista will be a six-day series of job fairs which will kick off on 11 March at the Quezon City Covered walk. The Quezon City PESO, DOLE-NCR Quezon City Field Office will coordinate the activity and invite participating employers that correspond to the skills profile of tech-voc graduates while the POEA takes charge of inviting licensed recruitment agencies.
The target employers of the convergence job fairs are employers in the key employment generator industries. These industries include business process outsourcing, health and wellness, construction, hotels and restaurants, tourism. security services, hospital, and telecommunications.
Dates and Venues:
- 11 March, Quezon City Hall Covered Walk;
- 14 March, Manila at SM San Lazaro;
- 18 March, Muntinlupa at SM Tunasan;
- 20 March, Malabon at Star-J Malabon;
- 21 March at the Pasay Sports Complex;
- 22 March, Pasig or Mandaluyong (tentative).
During the job fairs, the convergence partners will offer such services as employment counseling, tips during job interviews and advice on how to write a winning resume, and free TESDA services such as hair-cutting and massage. There will be also pre-employment documentation–NSO, SSS, PhilHealth, PagIbig, BIR Tax Identification Number, and NBI and PNP clearances.
