Palarong Olimpiko 2008 sa Beijing

Hey do you know that the latest Google.com.ph has a Beijing Olympics 2008 logo? When a visitor clicked on it, it shows the search engine result pages for the keyword, Palarong Olimpino 2008 sa Beijing. This could be one source of good local traffic.
Anyway, since where talking about the Beijing Olympics, I will give you an update about the medal count and the Philippine team standing.
As of this moment, China has overpassed USA for the most medal count. Currently, the host country is bearing 32 medals, 20 of which are gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze as compared to the USA which was leading previously bearing 31 medals: 10 gold, 8 silver and 13 bronze. Australia, France and South Korea follow with 16, 14, 13 medal counts, respectively.
Regarding the Philippine team, I’ve heard that already 6 players have been booted out of their respective events. Sad.

As a medical student, I must say that one of the costly aspect of medical education are the textbooks. Good thing that the books we need and commonly use like the Harrison’s Internal Medicine, Nelson’s Pediatrics, Guyton’s Physiology, Harper’s Biochemistry, etc.

5 Reasons Why I Love The Other Boleyn Girl Movie?
I’ve been waiting for “The Other Boleyn Girl” since January, and finally, after a long wait, I managed to watch it the other day. I didn’t read reviews about it because I don’t want to be biased on my judgment about the film. After watching it, I started reading the critics and viewer reviews at IMDB. Surprisingly, I have a contrasting opinion with most of the viewers - they said it was disappointing. It was even graded C+ by movie critics. This has made me doubt my taste on movies. So I tried to list all the things that made me love it to justify my “weird” preference at movies.
1. I love it because it starred Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
When I first saw the trailer at YouTube, and knew that Natalie and Scarlett are the lead roles, it made me excited to see the movie. They are two of my favorite movie actors because of their versatility and well, physically, of their pleasant faces. I’ve seen most of their movies and saw how good can they get. I loved Natalie Portman in Closer because it was a total deviant character from her usual sweet rules. I’ve seen Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation, one of the most critically-acclaimed movies, and followed her movies ever since.
2. It’s an epic film. I’ve always been stunned by the immense production and large dramatic scope of epic movies. Epic movies always tells history.

On Post-Graduate Intership
Time flies so fast. Four years ago, I was a struggling medical student. I couldn’t believe that I actually managed to surpass the trials medical education entailed. I will be an intern in the next 2 weeks! But I don’t know if I should breath for relief or sigh for anticipation and worries. I know that finishing my four years in medical college and entering internship mean that I am facing a tougher life and a greater responsibility.
When you are an intern, you are expected to have acquired most, if not all, the knowledge you need from your four years in medical education - that’s a big responsibility you say. Being admitted to a national hospital (in Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center) makes me worried all the more.
However, Nietzche’s said that “He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how.” This has been my motto in life ever since I started my medical education.
I am crossing my fingers for this new chapter of my life. I know prayers and perseverance will do the trick.
