I was delighted to know that the Philippines has its official entry to the New 7 Wonders of Nature, which is the Puerto Princesa Underground River or the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in Palawan.
This tourist attraction is a must-see for first time visitors and tourists. It contains an 8.2 km long underground river that flows directly into the sea. It houses and serves as a habitat for 5 internationally endemic birds and a total of 165 species of birds, so visitors can also enjoy bird watching. Other fauna that can be found in the place are reptiles and amphibians. Enjoy nature with this wonder.
To get there, you can book a flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa City daily and from Cebu City twice weekly. Puerto Princesa City is also accessible by sea with voyages scheduled once a week from Manila and Ilo-ilo City. From Puerto Princesa City, it takes around one and a half hours of travel over mostly paved road from the City to Sabang via public utility jeepneys (PUJs) and shuttle vans.
