Securing an National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance is almost always a requirement in applying for a job, a passport, etc. The clearance needs to be renewed yearly and will serve as proof that you don’t have any criminal records.
Applying for an NBI Clearance means you have to go through a long queue. Good news is you can actually avoid these long procedure by applying online.
How to apply for a new NBI Clearance? Follow the steps below:
Step 1. To use the NBI e-Clearance facility, first make a payment through your GCash account. An additional P20 is charged on every transaction. Ex. for local employment, you have to pay P135 + the additional P20 charge.
Text “Amount <space>MPIN” and send to 28829175638053. Ex. 135 1234 and send to 28829175638053. If you don’t have an GCASH account and an MPIN, you can register using your Globe cellphone by texting REG <4-digit PIN/mother’s maiden name/first name/last name/address> to 2882. The applicant will receive a confirmation text message with the Reference Number after the successful transaction. Note: SAVE the confirmation message for future reference.
You can also pay through Globe Payment Centers to get your Reference Number.
Step 2. Fill out the application form online. Provide the Payment Reference Number and mobile number (for GCASH transactions). For over the counter payments, indicate the date and time of transaction. After a successful application online, a QR Code will be provided and must be printed as proof of application.
Step 3. Book for an appointment to use the e-Clearance Lane. Text “BOOK <space> Reference Number <space> Location <space> MMDDYY <space> HHMM <space> Name” and send to 09175638054.
Step 4. After booking for an appointment, you can proceed to the MAIN NBI CLEARANCE CENTER (U.N. Avenue). Go to the e-Clearance Lane on the confirmed booking date. Bring printed QR Code and 1 valid government-issued ID supporting the details entered in the online application form. Government-issued IDs can be Voter’s ID, Postal ID, PRC, SSS, GSIS, Passport, Driver’s License, and Original NSO Birth Certificate.
The QR Code will be scanned and your Biometric Information will be captured. Your new NBI Clearance and the receipt will then be printed.
