The talent search Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 (PGT4) has announced its first batch of finalists on Sunday after a day of showcasing their respective talents and overnight voting period. Six acts have competed on Saturday for the viewers’ votes.
The MP3 Band from Davao City topped the voting and garnered 25.69% of the total text votes, advancing them automatically to the finals. The trio, comprised of lead singer and guitarist Aries Sales, lead guitarist LJ Manzano and beatboxer Mckoy, performed a mash-up of the children’s song “Bahay Kubo” and Gary Valenciano’s “Di Bale Na Lang” on Saturday’s first semifinals performance night.
Meanwhile, YouTube sensation Roel Manlangit, flairtender Chaeremon Basa and black light dancers Zilent Overload battled it out for the judges’ votes to enter the finals.
Zilent Overload, the 30-member black-light theater group from Pasig, won the judges’ vote unanimously. “Among the thee of you, may isa kaming pinili na unanimous ang decision namin. …Congratulations, Zilent Overload,” judge Kris Aquino announced.
Roel Manlangit, who belted out Wency Cornejo’s Habang May Buhay, has won 2 out of 3 votes from the judges (Aquino and Freddie M. Garcia), while only Ai Ai delas Alas voted for Basa.
