Ever since I upgraded or switched my Smart Buddy (prepaid) to Smart Gold (a postpaid) subscription, I’m always having dilemma of delayed reception of my bills. When I try to talk to a Smart representative, they always say that there maybe is a discrepancy on my address. Anyways, I tried to look for alternative ways to know how much did I consumed with my postpaid allocation or bills.

One convenient way is to register through your mobile phone. You can go to your Smart Menu on your phone then click Account Balance. An SMS will be sent to your phone stating your latest balance.

Another way of checking your Smart Gold or Smart Bro account balance is registering to http://smart.com.ph/connect using your mobile number. With Smart Connect, you can start viewing your:
* Account Balance
* Billing Statements
* Payment Center Directory where you can locate any payment or Bayad centers nearest you.
* Bill Tracker where you can see if they sent the billing statement to your registered address. This allows you to change your correct billing address immediately so no more delays in the delivery of your billing statements.

Smart also offers e.Statement service where a subscriber can opt to receive billing statements through his/her e-mail, in return, he/she will receive 500 points Smart Rewards if he/she is a good payer. With e.Statement service, you can save papers used in printing the hard copy of your bills.

It’s a great thing that Smart has this innovation for the convenience of its subscribers.

I recently subscribed to Sun Cellular’s Easy Line Plan 250, and so far, I’ve been satisfied with it. For only P250.00, I am getting unlimited Sun-to-Sun texts and 20 minutes allocated each day Sun-to-Sun calls, which can be accumulated, if not consumed, on the allocation for the following day. I have to load every month with regular load, though, to maintain my unlimited Sun-to-Sun texts.

Other plans also are available for Sun Cellular like, Easy Plan 400, Plan 350, Plan 450, and Plan 600. For details about this plan, visit the Sun Cellular website now.

Currently, a new fad in unlimited texting is brought by the newest 3G unlimited network in the Philippines – Red Mobile – powered by the strongest network, Smart Telecommunications. With Red Mobile Unlimited you can choose the different plans:

1. Plan P25 – with 60 texts to all networks, valid for 1 day. To register, text UNLI25 to 9949.
2. Plan P125 – with 300 texts to all networks, valid for 7 days. To register, text UNLI125 to 9949.
3. Plan P500 – with 1000 texts to all networks, valid for 30 days. To register, text UNLI500 to 9949.

Although this kind of unlimited texting plans are different from the postpaid offers by Sun Cellular. For me, I will still prefer the postpaid offerings by Sun Cellular.

I have been complaining about the unsolicited Smart Telecom advisories about their current promos. I have been receiving annoying logos, as annoying as a sexy girl posing with her bikini. I also receive some monotones with .amr format. They say it’s free but if you subscribe you can receive related stuff within a week. I say these were unsolicited because I have not subscribed or activated any of their service. Well, maybe this could be a course to all Smart Buddy or Prepaid subscribers. We are all bound to receive these text spams.

I have been sending “Alerts Off” messages to 211, as stated at end of their text alerts, to unsubscribe, but to no avail. An automated reply says that the service will be deactivated after 2 days or 48 hours but I still receive them, after that span of time. In fact, I still receive these alerts until now when I have already unsubscribed for three times already. I have sent a complaint letter a couple of times already but I always get a “we’ll see to your problem” replies. The customer care hotline is always busy as expected.

To all Smart subscribers who once had this problem, how did you deactivate your text alerts?

It had been 4 months ago since I posted about a contest by Havoc Digital that gives everyone a chance to win his own Smart Bro prepaid internet kit, and I was surprised that until now the promo is still running. Good news to those who have not purchased their own kit and to those who have been struggling with a dial-up connection.

How to win? The mechanics is simple. You have to play their Sugod Game using your arrow keys to match what arrows appear on the screen. To be eligible to win your own Smart Bro Prepaid Kit, you have to get a minimum of 50,000 points after 4 rounds. Then, after acquiring the points, submit your contact details to their website. Winners will be chosen through electronics raffle draw.

The Smart Bro modem now costs P2,500.oo, so it’s practical to join this promo.
