Unofficially Yours movie has received good reviews

On its first showing day, Star Cinema’s Valentine’s day offer, “Unofficially Yours”, fans are expected to troop to theaters to be the first to see this must-watch romantic film of the year.

Unofficially Yours is said to have the ingredients of a blockbuster movie. Firstly, it is top billed by two of the most sought-after actors of their generation and who have already starred in box-office hits – Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz. Secondly, it is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, with five of her films entering the list of highest-grossing films in the Philippines. Thirdly, it has a timely plot or theme. Filipino viewers are now said to be more open-minded. The top-grossing “No Other Woman” was an indicator. And lastly, it has a commendable story, which was graded “B” by the Cinema Evaluation Board.

With these makeup of a good film, the movie is expected to satisfy the cravings of Filipinos to romantic comedies. Netizens are talking about the movie on Twitter, with majority agreeing that the movie is indeed a must-watch. Unofficially Yours is now showing in more than 100 theaters nationwide.

John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin top-bills, “Unofficially Yours” Star Cinema’s offering for Valentine’s Day.

“Unofficially Yours” is said to be the romantic comedy of the year and is expected to topple box office records set by “Praybeyt Benjamin” and “No Other Woman,” both are also from Star Cinema. Further, it is directed by box-office director Cathy Garcia-Molina. The undeniably strong chemistry between John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin was first seen in the small screen with “Imortal”, which was a top rater.

The movie talks about “casual relationships” and “modern-day romance.” John Lloyd plays Macky Galvez, who have had several failed relationships and Angel plays Ces, a reporter and an independent woman who doesn’t believe in commitment. When the two met, a sexy love story began to bloom.

Unofficially Yours will be shown in 100 theaters nationwide on February 15 as a Valentine offering from Star Cinema. It will surely be a perfect date movie.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 now showing in Philippine Cinemas

Filipino moviegoers are lining up again for another box-office hit as the first part of the fourth installment (entitled “Breaking Dawn Part 1″) of the international hit saga, Twilight, based on the Stephenie Meyer’s bestseller series, premiered in Philippine cinemas on November 18, 2011. Being one of the much-awaited movies of the year, seeing the movie was a great Christmas treat for fans.

I was having a hard time acquainting myself as new characters are injected because I have not read the series. I went with my sister, and gladly she was there to explain everything to me to get oriented with the movie. I would shamefully admit that I only know few characters even if I got to watch since first part.

“No Other Woman” Official Trailer Released

After watching the official trailer of “No Other Woman”, I must say this will be one of the biggest movie of the year. Top billed by today’s three of Philippine showbiz’ biggest stars – Derek Ramsay, Christine Reyes and Anne Curtis, “No Other Woman” is an upcoming romantic, sexy-themed film from a joint venture of Star Cinema and Viva Films.

From the title itself, the story revolves around the lives of three persons caught in a web of one of the frequent issues faced by marriage couple – infidelity. Christine plays as the legal wife while Anne plays the other woman.

“No Other Woman” is directed by Ruel Santos Bayani and will be released on September 28, 2011 in cinemas nationwide. The official trailer was released few hours ago and it has been a trending topic on Twitter worldwide. The trailer sure arose curiosity and interest among moviegoers.

Charice and Salma Hayek in a Hollywood movie

Here’s another new to Pinay international singing sensation, Charice Pempengco.

After grabbing a role at Glee Season 2, and was even reported to be back in few episodes of the show, Charice is currently filming a new Hollywood movie with Salma Hayek, entitled “Here Comes the Boom”, her second movie (her first was Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel). Cast includes Kevin James (Grown Ups, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry), Henry Winkler (Click, Arrested Development) and Joe Rogan (Fear Factor).

“Here Comes the Boom” is an action-comedy film which tells a story about a music teacher (James) that turns to cage fighting for the prize money to keep his school’s music program financially afloat. Source: ABS-CBN News

I just finished watching the trailer of “The Other Boleyn Girl” in YouTube and I could not wait to watch that movie. With spectacular casts, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson (two of my favorite female actresses) and Eric Bana, a historical plot, and great cinematography, this movie will surely make it to the top box-office hits.

Plot Summary (from IMDb):

A sumptuous and sensual tale of intrigue, romance and betrayal set against the backdrop of a defining moment in European history, “The Other Boleyn Girl” tells the story of two beautiful sisters, Anne (Natalie Portman) and Mary (Scarlett Johansson) Boleyn who, driven by their family’s blind ambition, compete for the love of the handsome and passionate King Henry VIII (Eric Bana). Both women shall share the King’s bed, but only the one whom Henry loves the most shall rise to the throne and take power as his Queen of England. One sister shall fail, and the other will pay a high-price for her success: her life. But which sister shall it be?

I’ve always been a fan of novel-based movies, so I couldn’t also wait for this one. This movie will be released on February 29, 2008 (US released date).
