It is quite common to see people regularly posting on their blog for some time before abruptly stopping all activity on the blog. A blog is often used for marketing purposes and once the desired result is achieved, the blog holds little significance for the blogger. In other cases, the blogger may lose interest in the activity for lack of enthusiasm from the readers or not having something new to share with the readers to grab their attention.

Also, people tend to have a lot of blogs, moving from one to another as a mode of information dispersal while relegating others to oblivion. If you are one such blogger aiming to revive a dead block, paying attention to the following can aid the process of getting back the readers while helping you in becoming a regular blogger rather than losing interest again after some time.

1. Explain your absence

When you post on a blog after a long period of absence, do not just start posting as if you do not need to explain. You ought to explain to people the reason for your prolonged absence. Just as you invest time in blogging, people too invest their time in reading what you post.

2. Invite guest posts

If the lack of regularity in posting relates to not having something remarkably good to share and the usual topics having already been covered in depth, you can start again and bring in variety to the text by asking your readers and fellow bloggers to contribute through guest posts.

3. Increase level of interaction

To avoid boredom to set in, avoid posting as a means of information dispersal. Take a more interactive approach. Use the current happenings in your domain as a means of getting people’s opinion. Give your ideas on the same. Keep bringing in new topics to avoid boredom to set in.

4. Ask for feedback

Feedback on your posts helps you not only in giving a better direction to your blog but also helps you expand the reach of your topics by getting an inkling of exactly what your audience is looking forward to from you.

5. Direct people to your new initiatives

In case the lack of posts on your blog has anything to do with any new initiatives that you have taken in the form of a new blog, direct people to that blog to build a larger reader base. Use platforms that help you synchronize posts on different blogs to manage them better.

6. Discontinue a blog officially if you do not see yourself working on it

Even after due consideration of all the avenues available to you to revive an old blog, if you find yourself unable to have the same enthusiasm for the blog, it is better to discontinue it by letting people know and direct people to a new blog of yours.

A blog works well in promotional campaigns and for attracting traffic to a website but for you to build a reputation in order to always have an audience for your initiatives rather than having to start from scratch, you need to blog regularly and make yourself answerable to your audience. Posting regularly and then stopping it altogether for some time before re-emerging and expecting your audience to read regularly yet again is a bit too optimistic. It takes time to build a loyal reader base. Understand its significance and make sure you do not spoil the result of your hard work.

Probloggers say that to attract visitors and build readership, you have to start with your content. As they’ve said, “CONTENT IS KING.” Articles and blog posts are written to be read.

Writing articles or posting entries to your blog can be a tedious task. Reading good feedbacks from your readers and seeing good stats for those articles are already fulfilling compensation.

To make sure that your articles get read and enjoyed, here are six red hot tips to get your articles read. These tips will make your articles readable and interesting.

1) Use short paragraphs. Admit it, you, yourself, sometimes hate reading very long articles, especially if it is not so engaging. It can get quite confusing and too much of a hard work to read. The reader will just quickly disregard the paragraph and move on to much easier reading articles that are good to look at as well as read. Paragraphs can be a single sentence, sometimes even a single word!

2) Make use of numbers or bullets. As each point is stressed out, numbers and bullets can quickly make the point easy to remember and digest. As each point, tip, guide or method is started with a bullet or point, readers will know that this is where the tips start and getting stressed. Format you bullets and numbers with indentations so that your article won’t look like a single block of square paragraphs. Add a little bit of flair and pizzazz to your articles shape.

3) Use Sub-headings to sub-divide your paragraphs in the page. Doing this will break each point into sections but still would be incorporated into one whole article. It would also be easy for the reader to move on from one point to another; the transition would be smooth and easy. You will never lose your readers attention as well as the point and direction to where the article is pointing.

4) Provide a good attention-grabbing title or header. If your title can entice a person’s curiosity you’re already halfway in getting a person to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilize keywords that people are looking for. Provide titles or headers that describe your articles content but should also be short and concise.

Use titles like, “Tips on making her want you more”, or “How to make her swoon and blush” .You could also use titles that can command people, for example, “Make her yours in six easy Ways”. These types of titles reach out to a persons’ emotions and makes them interested.

5) Keep them interested from the start to the finish. From your opening paragraph, use real life situations that can be adopted by the reader. Use good descriptions and metaphors to drive in your point, just don’t over do it. Driving your examples with graphic metaphors and similes would make it easy for them to imagine what you are talking about. Making the experience pleasurable and enjoyable for them.

6) Utilize figures when necessary and not just ordinary and insipid statements. Using specific facts and figures can heighten your article because it makes it authoritative. But do not make it too formal, it should be light and easy in them and flow. Like a friendly teacher having a little chat with an eager student.

Another one of my Xanga entries: Why I <del datetime="2008-01-14T16:52:12+00:00">think</del> thought the internet was evil?

Internet is EVIL, don’t you think?

1. It’s a huge temptation. I need not cite examples why did I say so.

2. It’s time-wasting. Imagine?! You were just chatting with some friends, posting on message boards, blogging, and visiting some sites and then you suddenly came to your mind, cursing yourself because you already spent 7-straight hours in front your PC. “Stupid! It’s our session tomorrow yet I didn’t bother to read some of our topics. Study now, bitch!” But when you scan your books and encounter some boring words, especially those that requires you to get a dictionary and search them up, you’ll feel sleepy. Sometimes, unknowingly because maybe your eyes are tired, you fall asleep that when you woke up, you were late for school already!

3. It’s costly. One of our parents’ monthly habits are nagging about the internet bill, especially when you’re using broadband connection. You can still hear the voice of your mom, half-yelling, “Because of this, *holding the bill* you’ll have a 10% less from your allowance.” But it’s fine with us, as long as we have internet connection. We can endure the nagging and a less from our allowance but we can’t endure the thought that we’ll be offline for months.

4. It ruins some lives. When you have ample time, why don’t you try visit some internet cafês, you would think for a moment that you’re at a war zone. But all you see are students, busy clicking the mouse, playing Counter-Strike.

In conclusion: Yeah, internet is evil. But it’s within us if we submit ourselves to it’s domination.

These were my views when I had difficulty dividing my time between studying and blogging. This was during the peak of my blogging addiction. But now I learned the benefits of internet, I think I should post an entry about “Why I think think the internet is good?”
