“Filipinos are some of the most passionate and knowledgeable fans and we will be bringing two storied franchises to participate in this showcase,” said Scott Levy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of NBA Asia.
“SM has been a long term partner of the NBA and this game is the next step in our evolution. We will give you the entire NBA experience: players, coaches, dance teams, mascots,” he added.
This will be the first time that the Philippines will host an official NBA game. Last year, some NBA All Star players visited Manila for an exhibition game against PBA legends.
“We have the most dedicated basketball fans and we have long been wanting to bring world-class basketball in this world-class venue,” added Hans Sy, President of SM Prime Holdings, Inc.
The Houston Rockets are headlined by James Harden and Jeremy Lin, while Paul George and David West banner the Indiana Pacers.
