Gilas Pilipinas vs Shanghai Sharks in an exhibition game in May
The Philippine national team, Gilas Pilipinas, will face the tough Yao Ming-owned Shanghai Sharks in an exhibition game this May as preparation to the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship, which will be held in Manila on August, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Ritchie Garcia on Wednesday.

Garcia said that the Sharks will face either a PBA All-Star selection or a PBA team on May 6, before taking on Gilas on May 8. Yao Ming will reportedly come over to witness the basketball showdown.
The PSC is chosen from either the SM Mall of Asia Arena or Smart-Araneta Coliseum to be a venue for the two games. The Sharks will also host a basketball clinic on May 7.
The exhibition games will be played in between the PBA All-Star Week in Digos from May 1 to 6 and the opening of the PBA Governors’ Cup on May 10.
Other details such as ticket prices, final venue, PBA lineup, etc., will be divulged at a later date.
