Azkals vs Turkmenistan replay, results and highlights of the game
The Philippine’s national football team, Azkals, advances to the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup – Maldives, after leading the Group E of the qualifiers round.
Last Sunday, March 24, the Philippine football team recorded their second widest victory margin against the opponent (the first one during Paulino Alcantara’s era) following their victory over Cambodia in an 8 to nil goals.
On March 26, Azkals seek to avenged their 2-1 loss to Turkmenistan which eliminated them from the tournament in 2012. The Michael Weiss-led squad sought exact revenge after it defeated the Turkmenistan football team with a lone goal by Phil Younghusband to none from the opponents during their face-off at the Rizal Memorial Stadium for Group E qualifying rounds.
The Azkals lead the Group E in points and emerged as one of the two best second-placed teams from the Group E, securing their spot to represent the country in the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup to be held in Maldives.
