The Philippine Azkals have officially sealed their semi-finals spot after the team beat Myanmar White Angels during the 2012 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup on Friday, November 30, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Azkals finished with a 2-0 goal made by Phil Younghusband early in the second half and Angel Guirado on the 93rd minute of the game. A five-minute injury time was added to the match, which gave the Azkals a chance for another goal.
The historic win gave the Philippines a total of six points, three-point behind Group A top scorer Thailand, which finished with nine points. The Azkals will face the second-place finisher in Group B, which still depends on the final pair of matches on Saturday.
The first leg of the home-and-away semifinals is set on December 8 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, which would be the first Suzuki Cup final four match that will be played on Philippine soil. Second leg will be played on December 12.
