Coach Norman Black-led Talk ‘n Text Tropang Texters is another step closer to their three-peat All-Filipino cup championship title bid after defeating Rain or Shine Elasto Painters for second in a row during the 2012 PBA Philippine Cup finals showdown at the Mall or Asia (MOA) Arena on Friday night.
The Texters now led the best-of-seven series with 2-0. Ranidel de Ocampo lifted the Texters with a season-high 24 points, grabbed nine rebounds, powering the team with 89-81 victory over the Elasto Painters.
TNT is now halfway to get a record of being the first PBA team to get a grand slam for an All-Filipino Cup. Despite their victory, coach Black said that there is no reason yet to celebrate.
“We’re up 2-0, but as far as I’m, concerned, it takes four wins to win the championship,” said Black during a post-game interview.
The two teams will duel again for Game 3 of the series set Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum. Click here for the schedules of the 2013 PBA Philippine Cup Finals.
