Having virtually free of virus attacks, is probably the edge of Mac OS over Microsoft Windows. However, a recent Apple news has been circulating in the internet, which states that the company is recommending Mac OS users to use an anti virus software.
Apple was firm however that this should not alarm Mac users because they are always ensuring the security of their platform. Tech analysts say that the recommendation was only a response to the realities of the market, where Mac users are finding they are not immune to Trojans and other Web-based malware that malicious hackers write to steal data from computers.
No platform can claim to be the safest now. Even the open-source Linux OS which was before concluded virtually free from viruses, worms, Trojans and other form of malware can also be vulnerable as some anti-virus utilities are available for download for this OS.
