Daiana Menezes’ cryptic posts about rape and violence against women have raised concern from her followers and friends in her social media accounts Twitter and Instagram, suggesting that her relationship with outgoing Cagayan de Oro Representative Benjamin “Benjo” Benaldo, had taken an abusive turn.
The Brazilian beauty posted series of photos with messages like “No to rape”, “No to violence against Women”, “Stop Violence Against women and her arm full of fresh cuts and bruises, among others, on her Instagram. Due to these alarming messages, her followers asked if she is battered. She did not directly answer queries if she was physically abused, she instead replied: “I dunno y (why) Filipino men can be … I have no words. ”Exactly they should respect the pain it’s not right to expose anymore its too (m)uch to take.”
In a seeming reply to Menezes’ posts, the congressman has posted a very amorous amorous photo of himself kissing a blown-up tarpaulin image of the Brazilian actress, with the caption that reads: “I miss my woman.”
Benaldo’s posted the message 4 days ago, at about the same time that Daiana started posting cryptic messages. No official statement has come out yet from her fiance’s camp to belie the speculations of abuse and rape against the actress as implied in her Instagram posts.
In an interview with Interaksyon.com, Menezes’ booking manager, Allan Altera, confirmed the actress is going through a difficult time in her personal life. He said this is not the first time she has been abused or taken advantage of because she’s a foreigner.
“Hindi din kasi siya makalaban since pinili niya ‘yung path ng buhay niya na mag-stay dito at makisama,” Altera said. “Let’s try to give her time and space to recover. Soon we’ll officially hear her side,” he added.
Altera assured that the actress is moving on with upcoming projects and TV commercials.
