Claudine Barretto will return to her home network ABS-CBN, this was announced in the official Kapamilya Gold Facebook fan page. The fan page posted a photo of Barretto and captioned it with “The QUEEN returns to the HOME where she truly belongs and the HOME which never fails to make her feel that she is indeed one of the BRIGHTEST STAR(S) in the COUNTRY.”
Barretto and ABS-CBN had a falling out when she transferred to GMA, its rival network, in 2010. Being a homegrown talent, she was one of the most-prized actors of the network before she jumped ship to be a Kapuso talent. She was part of several Kapamilya televisions shows and played award-winning roles in movies produced by ABS-CBN’s cinema production arm, Star Cinema. Her last project with ABS-CBN was a special appearance with the defunct Kapamilya series “May Bukas Pa” in 2009.
Most Kapamilya fans did not like the idea that ABS-CBN re-acquired her as a talent. But the official page defended the network’s decision. ”Whatever happened in the past remains in the past. Let us all welcome her back wholeheartedly… Whatever it may, she will forever remain a true blooded Kapamilya,” the message said.
