Twenty-six-year old actor and GMA Starstruck alumnus Tyron Perez was found dead in an abandoned car in Valenzuela. According to preliminary reports, he allegedly committed suicide.
Tyron Perez was among the first batch of the reality-based talent search avengers, together with Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras in 2003. After his stint in StarStruck, he became an exclusive artist of GMA-7 for four years where he has done several shows before transferring to the ABS-CBN where he appeared in the remake of Mula Sa Puso, Momay, and in some episodes of the drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Update: Valenzuela police (via GMA News) said that a gunshot wound to the head might have caused his death. Unofficial reports say that this could be due to suicide, but a foul play was also looked into.
Boy Abunda of Bandila said that according to initial reports, he was found dead in an empty lot near a friend’s house. Further, Boy added that Tyron’s non-showbiz wife is reported to be here in the Philippines however, they do not live together. Speculations circulate that if it were suicide it might be due to marital problems. No official reports from the police have been released, however.
This was not the first time that a Starstruck alumnus committed suicide. It was December of 2008 when Marky Cielo, the Ultimate Male Survivor of the same reality series, allegedly committed suicide.
