Signal No. 2 is still up in Metro Manila and other parts of NCR and Region 3, resulting to suspension of classes up to the secondary level by the Department of Education. Suspension of tertiary level, in colleges and universities for NCR was devolved by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to respective university or college officials.
The PAGASA then recommended the suspension of classes to tertiary level in Metro Manila and NCR. Although the recommendation have been given by the weather bureau, it will still be up to CHED and heads to announce the suspension of classes.
Some colleges and universities have already posted announcements regarding class suspension tomorrow, July 27. Chancellor Arcadio of UP Manila tells DZMM that classes and office work are suspended in all colleges of UP Manila. Philippine Normal University’s Dr. Ojena said that classes are suspended due to unpredictable weather condition by tomorrow. De La Salle University & De La Salle College of St. Benilde have also declared suspension of classes in the tertiary level.
