Tropical Storm Gorio Updates June 30
Tropical storm Gorio continues to pound Metro Manila and nearby provinces, bringing heavy rains on Sunday. According to PAGASA, as of 4:00 a.m. today, the center of Tropical Storm “GORIO” was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Batangas (14.0°N, 120.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 26 kph.
Storm signals are still hoisted over Metro Manila and some regions. Signal No 2 is still raised in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon Province, Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces incl. Lubang Island. Strong winds of 61-100 kph is expected in at least 24 hrs.
La Union, Benguet, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Polillo Island, Southern Aurora, Camarines Provinces, Albay, Burias Island, Romblon, Coron and Calamian Group of Islands are placed under signal no. 1 with winds of 45-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours.
Tropical Storm “GORIO” is expected to be at 500 km Northwest of Subic, Zambales by tomorrow morning and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibity (PAR).
