The PAGASA announced that the low pressure area (LPA) seen west of Metro Manila has turned into tropical depression or cyclone, with code name “DODONG“.
As of 5:00 p.m., Thursday, 09 June 2011, Tropical Depresssion DODONG has accelerated and continues to move in a North Northwest direction. The center was spotted 150 km West of Dagupan City, carrying a maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center, moving North Northwest at 19 kph.
Signal number 1 are raised in areas of Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, and Pangasinan. Winds of 45-60 kph is expected within the next 36 hours. Storm signal on other areas are now lowered/lifted.
