Is February 25 holiday in the Philippines?

For employees in private and public offices, Feb 25 is will be an ordinary workday and NOT a holiday. This means that employees will receive their regular pay rate with no premium pay required.
President Benigno S. Aquino III, however, declares February 25 as a special holiday for all schools under Proclamation 459, which he signed last year. This is to commemorate the 27th Anniversary of People Power Revolution, also known as the EDSA Revolution and the Philippine Revolution of 1986.
Thus, only employees in private schools, whether academic or administrative personnel, will have a non-working holiday and shall be paid in accordance with the rules for pay on special (non-working) days.
February 25, which falls on a Monday, will be the first long weekend this year for the students, since February 11 a day after the Chinese New Year is not declared a holiday.
