BGC Bomb Threat. A week after the Two Serendra blast, panic ripped Bonifacio Global City anew, this time due to a bomb threat.
Two buildings at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig were evacuated due to a reported bomb threat on Friday. Employees and tenants of Net One Center Building and Marajo Tower were evacuated to a vacant lot as a precautionary measure after one of the occupants received a phone call warning against a possible explosion at the Net One building.
The Explosive and Ordinance Division with K-9 units and the Bureau of Fire Protection rushed to the scene to investigate. The authorities have found no traces of explosives in the area, however.
Initial report said that at around 1:54 PM, a call informing of an alleged bomb threat was received by Jenny Pagulayan, an administrative staff of Cypress Call Center, one of the businesses in Net One Center. She immediately relayed it to the building’s security, which informed the police about the threat.
Authorities said that the caller, a male, could be a disgruntled employee who was removed from his job or could be a prank caller. The call was reportedly from the Manila area.
Last Friday, an explosion occurred at the Two Serendra condominium also located at the Bonifacio Global City.
Authorities said a gas leak triggered the blast, which resulted to the deaths of 3 people and injuries of 5 others.
