Taylor Swift took Manila by storm and set the Big Dome on fire! A rare event in the Philippine music scene just took place on February 19, 2011 when the phenomenal Taylor Swift performed at the Araneta Coliseum for a concert as part of her “Speak Now” Tour. The tickets were reportedly sold out on its first month of distribution. Good thing that some contests gave opportunity to others who have not bought the ticket.
I was not able to witness the event but thankfully I found some videos of it over YouTube, so it was as if I was at the scene. But of course, watching it live and seeing Taylor Swift in person might have been a stellar experience.
The videos that I saw on YouTube was of high-definition quality however the voice of Taylor Swift can be barely heard because the crowd had been singing along with her. I guess making your song singable can somehow be an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. But nonetheless, the audience’s “background vocals” made the concert more successful.
Fans was also able to witness Sam Concepcion’s talent, who reportedly performed very well as front act for the Taylor Swift Live in Manila 2011 concert (chosen by the singer herself). Taylor Swift also chose him to perform in her concerts in Singapore and the rest of her Asian Tour as well.
