The Twilight movie has been considered as today’s phenomenon. On its premiere night, ticket sales soared high midnight before the showing time. The Twilight movie is expected to be a box office hit, especially to the female population and to those who have read the book. Fandango.com, an online ticket seller said that the Twilight movie is the fifth highest advanced ticket seller of all time.
Now that the “Twilight” movie will be premiering ahead in some countries, the movie producers should expect some leaked copies of the movie in the internet, especially in video sharing sites like YouTube, Megavideo, Veoh, etc.
For countries like the Philippines where movie premieres are usually delayed, some fans usually resorts to online movie streams from these video sharing sites. I have friends who spoils their excitement to a movie by watching it first online. It works to them as movie screening; if the movie is good and worth watching in cinemas, then they’ll spend bucks for it, but if it’s not worth a 150 bucks (one movie’s viewing cost in most major cinemas nationwide), then they will settle for what they have seen online. Haha.
As a big fan, I would rather see the movie in big screen. I don’t want my enthusiasm for the movie be killed by low quality videos uploaded in video sharing sites. But if I want to watch it again and again, I usually resort to online viewing.
