One of today’s hottest love team Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, fondly called by their fans as KathNiel, has an upcoming horror movie as one of the eight official entries for the 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in December.
Padilla and Bernardo will star in the Regal Films, Star Cinema and Skylight Films produced shocker Pagpag as an official entry to the 39th MMFF. The movie title and concept is derived from the old Filipino tradition or superstition of visiting other places when one comes from a wake before going home, this is to avoid spirits coming along to your house.
The two expressed excitement during an interview with Showbiz Insider Report (SIR). Bernardo says she is familiar with this old belief and admits that she, herself, practices it.
“Actually kapag pumupunta ako sa wake or ganyan, parati kaming nagpapagpag bago kami umuwi. Magsa-stop ako sa gasoline stationtapos naga-ano… yun lang nagpa-pagpag lang bago umuwi sa bahay.”
She also revealed she does not watch horror flicks because she gets scared easily. “Enjoy ko naman siya kasi nga iba, hindi ka iiyak, hindi ka magpapakilig. Mananakot ka lang,” she said.
Pagpag will be the first horror film of Padilla, while Bernardo has already starred in several horror movies in the past like Shake, Rattle and Roll.
