The third movie installment of the John Lloyd and Sarah Geronimo box-office tandem (fondly called AshLloyd by supporters) titled “It Takes a Man and a Woman” will hit theaters on during the first quarter on 2013 under Viva Films and Star Cinema. According reports, the movie is eyed for release on Valentine’s Day but recently, we read articles saying that it will be shown March 2013. The Popstar Princess and John Lloyd are said to start taping the said movie starting next week.

In February last year, Cruz and Geronimo, in an interview with ABS-CBN News said that this installment will be set three years after the second entry in the series. “May konting time lapse pero hindi malinaw kung gaano katagal. Ang alam ko, three years mula ‘A Very Special Love.’ Basta may time lapse and sa simula ng storya, doon niyo makikita kung ano ang pagbabago,” Cruz said at the time.
“Sa bawat relationship naman, laging may changes ‘di ba? Ito may time lapse so makikita natin kung ano ang pagbabago kay Laida at sa relationship nila,” Geronimo added.
Cruz and Geronimo teamed up in 2008 for “A Very Special Love” as first installment of the romantic-comedy series. Few months after, on February 2009, they teamed up again for its sequel “You Changed My Life”. The two predecessors were among the top 10 highest-grossing local films of all time and this installment is expected to replicate the success of its predecessors.
The cinema teaser of “It Takes a Man and a Woman” was released in December 25, 2012 during the opening day of the Metro Manila Film Festival, proving that the long-awaited team-up will push through. Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina will also direct this third part.
In the teaser, Miguel “Miggy” Montenegro (Cruz) and Adelaida “Laida” Magtalas (Geronimo) led separate lives. What will they do to bring back their happy ending?
