Another joint movie venture from Star Cinema and Viva Films is making its way to the all-time high grossing local movie. It Takes a Man and a Woman movie gross income on first day breaks box-office records.
The third and final installment of the “Miggy Montenegro-Laida Magtalas” love team It Takes a Man and a Woman has earned a whopping P32.6 million on its opening day on Black Saturday. It has beaten other previously Star Cinema solo-produced movie in the box office charts such as the Coco Martin-Julia Montes team up A Moment in Time and the Kathniel (Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla) movie Must Be Love.
“P32.6M first day opening gross for It Takes A Man and A Woman! Congratulations everyone!! To God be the Glory,” Mico del Rosario, advertising and promotions manager of Star Cinema, announced on his official Twitter account on Sunday.
The two prequels of the movie A Very Special Love and You Change My Life is included in the top 10 highest-grossing locally-made films in the Philippines. ”A Very Special Love,” released in 2008, made P179.3 million, while “You Changed My Life,” released in 2009, earned P225.2 million during its theatrical run.
The Miggy-Laida love team has created quite a following. This is why, the latest installment is expected to replicate the success of its prequels.
