The results of the DOST 2011 Scholarship exam held last November 2010 were released earlier with a total of 1,246 high school students passing the 2011 DOST Science and Technology 2011 scholarship exam.
Two scholarships are offered: the RA 7687 for talented and deserving students of financially constrained families and the DOST-SEI Merit Scholarship Program. There were 846 who qualified as scholars under the RA 7687 scholarships, and 400 who passed the DOST-SEI Merit scholarship program.
Qualifiers of the DOST Scholarship programs can enroll in recognized schools for Centers of Excellence or Centers of Development by the Commission on Higher Education, and can choose from the following courses: Agriculture, Agricultural Biotechnology; Agricultural Chemistry; Agricultural Engineering; Applied Mathematics; Applied Physics; Biochemistry; Biology; Ceramics Engineering; Chemistry w/ Applied Comp. System; Chemistry w/ Materials Science and Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Chemistry; Civil Engineering; Computer Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical Engineering; Electronics and Communications Engineering; Environmental Science; Fisheries; Food Technology; Forestry; Geology; Geodetic Engineering; Geological Science and Engineering; Industrial Engineering; Information Technology; Manufacturing Engineering; Materials Engineering; Mathematics; Mechanical Engineering; Metallurgical Engineering; Mining Engineering; Molecular Biology and Biotechnology; Physics; Physics with Applied Computer System; Physics with Materials Science and Engineering; Science/Mathematics Teaching and Statistics.
