The UP Fair, an annual event happening every February, is organized by the UP University Student Council. It is a feast of talents and nights of merrymaking where 7,000-11,000 people are expected per night. It is a five-day concert series from UP’s homegrown and visiting bands alike. This year UP Fair 2011 Band Lineups are Updharmadown, Kamikazee, The Bloomfields, Imago, Wilabaliw, Chicosci, Topjunk, Sandwich, Imago, Franco, Moonstar 88, Silent Sanctuary, Callalilly, Giniling Festival, Datu’s Tribe and many more.
Here are what to expect for the UP Fair 2011:
Feb. 15, Tuesday: FAIR and Square where UP’s homegrown bands will perform. More than 50 percent of the performers will be the university’s own. There will also be a fashion show by UP students, sponsored by Lee and Globe.
Feb. 16, Wednesday: FAIRst Quarter Storm will have a retro feel as it reaffirms the role of students in the ’70s Martial Law revolution.
Feb. 17, Thursday: Loverage 5 Revolt sponsored by The Adelfe Enu Crea Sorority (AEC), this will be the fifth installment of the Loverage series and will feature today’s hottest local bands.
Feb. 18, Friday: Upsurge Rocking the System sponsored by the EMC2 fraternity, on its eighth year of bringing Filipino music to UP Diliman. Expect a night of heavy rock.
Feb. 19, Saturday: InFAIRno to Budget Cut is the last and most anticipated night of the UP Fair, with a special performance by Urbandub. Since there are no classes the next day, students can stay up and enjoy the music and fair grounds until the wee hours of the morning.
