The Department of Education has recently released the designs and description of the textile materials of the new teacher’s uniform for 2013-2015 pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 39 series of 2012, which created the National Uniform Committee or NUC.
There will be two sets of uniform each for male and female, each set to be worn on corresponding days of the week. The first design shall be used on Mondays and Wednesdays and the second design for Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Friday being the wash day.
First design: a Sangria Red Bernice textured blouse with white huspies in truvenize collar designed with multicolored scarf, ribbon and buttons (with DepEd logo) accented with norpok effect and back stitches on the figure, paired with Maioli midnight blue with red stripe pants.
Second design: a Chateau Gray printed Hanthitorne blouse in mandarin collar, designed with ethnic pattern, accented with dark gray pleated bib and loop buttons (with DepEd Logo), paired with Alexa burnt henna pants.
The two designs both have optional blazers.
For male uniforms:
First design: A ramie dobby (gusot mayaman) checkered white cabana barong, accented with dainty pintucks and diamond like embroidery designed with patch pocket and white buttons (with DepEd Logo), paired with textured charcoal gray pants.
Second design: a Scotchland Silver Gray checkered half open barong, accented with geometric embroidery and buttons (with DepEd Logo), paired with Jayden bluish gray pants.
Teachers can use the annual clothing and uniform allowance amounting to Php 5,000.00 to get a new uniform. The effectivity of wearing the uniform shall be on the first day of SY 2013-2014.
