2011 Bar Examination Changes Coverage, Format, Venue and Date

The Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC) announced that there will be revamp of the format, venue and date of the 2011 Bar Examination. The 2010 bar examinations were held on 4 Sundays of September at the De La Salle University (DLSU), Manila.  For 2011 bar examinations will be held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in November.  This is to give more time for barristers to review.

Aside from the change of venue, SC announced that the 2011 bar examination will utilize a different format and coverage.  The 2010 bar examinations is the last set of exams where the old essay-type of questions was used.   For 2011, the coverage of the Bar Examinations will be drawn up by topics and sub-topics rather than just by stating the covered laws. It will also be composed of more multiple-choice questions (MCQ), which will take up 60% of an examiner’s final score.
