A new tropical depression, “Amang” which was feared to hit the Philippines, especially the northern part, is now moving northeast and away from the Philippine area of responsibility.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a latest update of the Tropical Depression “Amang”. The PAGASA website says that ” as of 2:00 p.m., today (Monday), Tropical Depression “AMANG” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 970 km East of Borongan, Eastern Samar (12.5°N, 134.5°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move Northeast at 22 kph.”
