After her temporary break from showbiz because of her pregnancy, Andi Eigenmann is set to stage her comeback as the new “Maria Mercedes”, a telenovela that became quite popular in the 90′s. She is said to portray the role that was previously lived by the Mexican actress Thalia.

The tagalized version of the series was aired on ABS-CBN in the 90′s, and now the Kapamilya network is rumored to do a remake, starring Eigenmann. Opposite Eigenmann will be the fast-rising young actor, Martin del Rosario, who will portray the character of Jorge Luis del Olmo (previously portrayed by Arturo Peniche).

Rumors say that the TV remake will start taping on the 2nd quarter of this year.

The two were automatically nominated for a different reason.

Tin’s automatic nomination was related to the failure of their special task, The Big Road Trip (CLICK HERE for related article). Big Brother gave Tin, Kevin and Pamu another chance to save themselves from automatic nomination but they were only able to save Pamu. Thus, Tin was automatically nominated.

Paco’s automatic nomination, on the other hand, was because of a major violation he committed when he engaged Kevin Fowler in a conversation about the nomination process. This was against Big Brother’s rules so he was penalized with the second heaviest punishment inside the house, automatic nomination.

One from Tin and Paco will be evicted on Saturday, February 11. To save either of the two, just key in BB <space> NAME OF THE HOUSEMATE and send to 2331 for Globe, TM and Sun Cellular subscribers and 231 for SMART and Talk and Text subscriber.

Wendy Tabusalla and Deniesse Joaquin frequents the nomination lists every week, with their “tactlessness” as one of the reasons why they are persistently nominated by their housemates.  However, due to their pagpapakatotoo, they gained a considerable following.This week, because Kuya did not see any of the housemate deserving to become the “Big Winner” or to belong to the “Big Four”, a face-to-face nomination of the latest evictee.  For this week, the two were again chosen by their housemates to exit the house.

The housemates were given the chance to save the two from eviction, however, Pamu, Kevin and Tin failed in their Big Road Trip.  An overnight voting was then held to select which housemate will get evicted.

On Saturday, Wendy was voted out of the Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited Top 14, with 46.41%.  Deniesse got 53.59% percentage of votes.

Kuya gave them 3 conditions to succeed in the task: First, they should not be recognized by anyone; second, they should be back before the sun sets; and the last will be to perform three specific task that were also given by Kuya.

The three specific tasks that were given by Kuya were:

• they need to buy a pasalubong and deliver it to Cainta, Rizal, at the Patrimonio’s residence. Tin will have to give the pasalubong to her mom without being recognized.

These three tasks should be performed by Tin, Kevin and Pamu before the sun sets because they should be back in the house before sunset. The success of this special task will determine the fate of Wendy and Deniesse.

Big Brother gave her a chance to fulfill three tasks to grant her request.  She had to put an “X” mark on her picture and of the housemate which she think does not deserve to be in the Big Four.  She marked Wendy’s picture.   When asked why Wendy, Jessica explained that Wendy is assured of a career outside.  The third task was to spray on one of the mirrors the words “I Quit”.   She complied, thus Kuya imposed “forced eviction” to Jessica.

Jessica has been one of the fan favorites because of her charm and great voice.  In fact, she was one to gain the top votes from the viewers because they believed she deserves to be on the Top 14.   As to what will happen with Wendy getting the “X” mark, we will soon find out from Kuya.

In today’s episode, the showtime hosts thanked everyone who became part of the show — contestants, staffs, hurados, and especially the madlang people. This episode was not like every other episode, it was more like the anniversary special, yet even more special.

Tribute were paid to the 200+ hurados who judged the hundreds of participants. Also, today, some of the hurados were at the studio, sitting among the madlang people. Some also did production numbers such as Yeng Constantino, Jed Madela, Robert Sena, Vina Morales, Iya Villania, Juris, Ryan Bang, Jhong Hilario and more. Gladys Reyes, Dimples Romana, and Amy Perez gave message as to how Showtime changed their live and how it became part of them.

Also, Showtime gave tribute to some contestants including the first ever group to perform on the Showtime stage, the “Kuliglig”, and the 4 grand champions from seasons 1 to 4, “XB Gensan”, “Laoag Gymnastics”, “True Colors” and “Astig Pinoy”.

Most importantly, the show also gave tribute to the most important people making up Showtime, the “madlang people”. For wherever the Showtime is right now, is all thanks to the madlang people who supported the show all the way.

Towards the end of the show, the hosts Vhong Navarro, Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Karylle, Billy Crawford, Kuya Kim Atienza, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz, each offered thanks to everyone in showtime and to each other. They were all very emotional in expressing how grateful they were to be a part of such show. They not only thanked all the people making up showtime but also humbly offered their thanks to the creator, Almighty God. They ended the show in their longest group hug ever.

Because of this very special episode, a lot of people speculated if this was the end of it. A lot of Netizens and avid viewers expressed their sadness when they thought that the show was saying goodbye. But all was clear after a tweet by Vice Ganda saying that showtime will not be permanently gone. It will be off-air for some time but will resume on February, replacing Happy, Yippee, Yehey! on its time slot.

It has now been confirmed that the ABS-CBN noontime show, Happy Yipee Yehey, will air its final episode on February 4, 2012.  The show barely reached its first anniversary.   It will air its final episode on February 4, 2012 with the grand finals of its “My Girl” search.

ABS-CBN issued an official statement on HYY farewell:

“Happy Yipee Yehey” (HYY) will have its last episode with the grand finals of its “My Girl” search at the AFP Theater on Saturday, February 4, 2012. 

ABS-CBN is very grateful to the HYY hosts and production staff for their hard work and contribution in giving our noontime viewers a “happy, yipee, yehey” experience for the past year.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our viewers, here in the Philippines and in The Filipino Channel (TFC) markets worldwide, for their support to the program.

The HYY hosts will be given new projects that kapamilyas will surely enjoy.

Happy Yipee Yehey, despite its powerhouse set of hosts – Toni Gonzaga, Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Rico J. Puno, Pokwang, etc., has failed to get at par in rating with the longest running noontime show on Philippine TV, Eat Bulaga!  The unimproved ratings of the show may have prompted the management to finally take it off air.
