It has an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus, 8x digital zoom and a LED flash.  It has a 1 GHz U8500 Dual Core processor and runs on Google Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)  but similar with Xperia S, it will receive an upgrade to Android 4 during the second quarter.  Talk time is is up to 6 hours (GSM), standby time up to 475 hours (UMTS), music listening time is up to 80 hours and video playback time is up to 4 hours.

The Xperia P will sell at a SRP of Php 22,990 and will be made available mid May.  The kit will come with two (2) NFC Smart Tags,  HDMI cable, screen protector and a fast charger (80% faster than regular charger).

The Sony Xperia U (previously known as Sony Ericsson ST25i Kumquat) will be available in Xperia Concept Stores by mid-May at a SRP of P13,990.  It is a “smaller version of Xperia P.  It comes with a 5MP camera with auto focus and LED flash.   It has a smaller 3.5 inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with 16 million colours, and resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

The most popular game on the Apple iOS is now available for Android OS.  Imangi Studios, makers of this addictive game, released the Android  version at the Google Play Store on Wednesday, March 27.

Android users can now download Temple Run for FREE using their phones.  As an  Android user, I was one of the millions who watched out for this release.  Excited as I was, when I tried to search for Temple Run for Android using my Sony Ericsson X10, the app itself did not show up on search results.

I found a way to install it on my Sony Ericsson X10.  I search Temple Run for Android directly from Google.com, and gave me the direct link (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imangi.templerun) for the app information.  I copied the link to my phone browser and was able to install it.

The Temple Run for Android was released on March 27, 2012 and requires at least an Android 2.1 version.  It is a 26-MB app and is available for FREE.  Few hours after its release, the app has already received a 5-star review with almost 20,000 downloads.

For a regular, non-suspecting Facebook user, this may look like a legitimate offer but if you dissect this event further, there are obvious signs that this offer could be scam.

1. There was no indication that the event was posted by Samsung and their official Facebook account at least.
2. The offer is too-good-to-be-true. Samsung has decided to give away 10,000 Galaxy Tabs FREE to our users online, come on! And this is how scam offers deceive people.
3. Similar with other scam offers, users are asked to sign up.  By driving more people to the scammers’ link where an online survey pops up, the ne’er-do-wells earn more commission.
4. Although the website where the link redirects to seems legitimate using the Samsung logo and trademark notices, the link given does not seem to be legitimate.   The official website of Samsung mobile is http://samsung.com.
5. As per observation, legitimate contests from these mobile companies usually are linked their official website or official Facebook fan page and usually by means of quizzes.

True enough, when I tried to click on the link, I was alerted with a possible threat by my antivirus software.   The very risky virus is called HTML/ScrInject.B.Gen.  According to King Soft the HTML/ScrInject.B is a hazardous Trojan that is added to web pages that encompass an HTML script which is hidden or iframes are automatically set to download the malware infection. HTML/ScrInject.B can lead to privacy and security risks to Computer users and their machines. HTML/ScrInject.B is primarily installed by way of security exploits with out a Computer user’s interaction. HTML/ScrInject.B can disable security applications and drop a lot more malware threats. It is suggested to uninstall HTML/ScrInject.B ahead of it destroys your Computer technique.
