American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez or J-Lo is set to stage her concert in Manila this November 24, as revealed by N91 Live productions CEO Jun Lorenz Mamangon during a recent media gathering in Taguig for the upcoming Michelle Branch and Jojo concert in Manila and Cebu.

Mr. Mamangon has already confirmed the date (November 24), however, they are still discussing on the venue for the concert, whether it will be held at SM MOA’s The Arena or at the concert grounds.  But he recommends the concert in an open field where they could sell more tickets but at a lower price as compared to if the concert is held at The Arena.

Mamangon also said that he’ll work on inviting American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez to open for J. Lo’s concert, which is not far from possible since they already know the singer back in 2000 when they opened their own production company and studio in San Diego where Jessica Sanchez enrolled for voice lessons.  His wife was her vocal coach.

The group called Biblemode Youth Philippines, who led the campaign on banning the artist in the Philippines, will start a prayer vigil starting on Saturday until the singer arrives in Manila for her two-night concert on May 21 and 22 to open the SM Arena.

Gaga’s music videos and performances were considered as “reflecting Satanic acts and paganism”.  Her songs contained anti-Christ lyrics.  Her skimpy costumes and provocative songs were a direct insult to Jesus Christ, according to the group.

The group was joined by church and political leaders in support for their protests.  Aside from these Satanic messages that said to contain in her songs and performances, the group also implicates the singer and concert to be against the Philippine constitution citing the Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code (Immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions and indecent shows).

The groups also threatened not to buy products from its major sponsors such as Smart Communications and SM Malls. No official statement have been released from this sponsors regarding these protests yet.

The Malacanang Palace, on the other hand, left the responsibility and decision to the parents, instead of banning teenagers from coming to the show.

Many have predicted that the final showdown will be between judges’ favorite Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez, however, it was a disappointing elimination for the judges as the former bade farewell from the show on Thursday.  Sanchez will compete with crowd favorite Phillip Phillips during the American Idol Finale Shows on May 22-23, 2012 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California.

The final two will be announced next Thursday.  Many have predicted that it will be a showdown between Jessica and Joshua, but who can tell, with a competition that is based largely on user votes and considering Phillips’ huge fan base, we really cannot predict who will be the last two standing.

Early this year, we posted an article asking if The Fray will hold a concert in Manila this 2012, basing on the post in Yahoo! Philippines regarding future concerts here in the Phil.  The Yahoo! article said that the band will be performing live on February 24, 2012  but it did not happen.  Yet, we are still hoping.

And the good news is (and we are hoping it really is), we maybe seeing the Fray band in a live concert in the next few months.   A Facebook page created earlier for The Fray Live in Manila 2012 which says that more details on their concert in Manila will be released on May 11,2012.   They will post the ticket prices, venue and other details on The Fray Live in Manila 2012. So we shall watch out for it.

The Fray is an American pop-rock band which gave us the Billboard chart toppers “How to Save a Life”, “You Found Me” and “Over My Head (Cable Car).
