How to Win Free Twilight Premiere Tickets and Promos?
My friend and I have been wanting to see “Twilight” on its Philippine premiere night. However, we are currently on tight budget and we know that premiere tickets cost much, much higher than the regular screening.
On eBay, one Twilight premiere ticket costs Php 600.00, four times costly than the regular ticket price of Php 150.00 at most major cinemas in the country. But seeing the movie, especially one that is as anticipated as “Twilight” is one unforgettable experience you can boast off to your friends.
If you are just like us, who can’t even afford a 600 bucks-worth ticket, you can try joining contests that entitle you to win “Twilight” premiere tickets. Read the rest of this entry »
Supreme.ph is giving away “Twilight” premiere tickets for the premiere night at SM Mall of Asia on November 25, 2008 to 5 lucky winners. To join, you have to sign up at their website and post a picture of you and your friends as vampires or werewolves.

5 Reasons Why I Love The Other Boleyn Girl Movie?
Apr 14, 2008 Movies
I’ve been waiting for “The Other Boleyn Girl” since January, and finally, after a long wait, I managed to watch it the other day. I didn’t read reviews about it because I don’t want to be biased on my judgment about the film. After watching it, I started reading the critics and viewer reviews at IMDB. Surprisingly, I have a contrasting opinion with most of the viewers - they said it was disappointing. It was even graded C+ by movie critics. This has made me doubt my taste on movies. So I tried to list all the things that made me love it to justify my “weird” preference at movies.
1. I love it because it starred Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
When I first saw the trailer at YouTube, and knew that Natalie and Scarlett are the lead roles, it made me excited to see the movie. They are two of my favorite movie actors because of their versatility and well, physically, of their pleasant faces. I’ve seen most of their movies and saw how good can they get. I loved Natalie Portman in Closer because it was a total deviant character from her usual sweet rules. I’ve seen Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation, one of the most critically-acclaimed movies, and followed her movies ever since.
2. It’s an epic film. I’ve always been stunned by the immense production and large dramatic scope of epic movies. Epic movies always tells history. Read the rest of this entry »

The Other Boleyn Girl: My Most Anticipated Movie for 2008
Jan 16, 2008 Movies
I just finished watching the trailer of “The Other Boleyn Girl” in YouTube and I could not wait to watch that movie. With spectacular casts, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson (two of my favorite female actresses) and Eric Bana, a historical plot, and great cinematography, this movie will surely make it to the top box-office hits.
Plot Summary (from IMDb):

A sumptuous and sensual tale of intrigue, romance and betrayal set against the backdrop of a defining moment in European history, “The Other Boleyn Girl” tells the story of two beautiful sisters, Anne (Natalie Portman) and Mary (Scarlett Johansson) Boleyn who, driven by their family’s blind ambition, compete for the love of the handsome and passionate King Henry VIII (Eric Bana). Both women shall share the King’s bed, but only the one whom Henry loves the most shall rise to the throne and take power as his Queen of England. One sister shall fail, and the other will pay a high-price for her success: her life. But which sister shall it be?

Flashback: Watching movies with your dad? Think again.
Jan 15, 2008 Flashback, Hacks and Tips, Movies
I dug up my entries in my Xanga and it’s a shame to realize that I was posting non-sense, boring posts (I couldn’t even think that I had readers!). Most of them contained mushiness and some with hint of humor. And oh, I was also fond of giving tips, nonsensical tips at that. So now, I came up with putting my favorite Xanga entries under one category which I will call “Flashback.”
This was my post where I provided “some tips” to my readers if they are planning to watch a movie with their fathers. The post was in reference to my dad. We were watching Troy and Kill Bill Vol. 2 at that time, when it was newly released in CDs, when suddenly dad came in, spoiling the fun by asking a lot of questions and expressing his “thoughts” about the movie.
So here are the tips:
1. If you’re watching a sequel and he happened to haven’t watched the first part, tell him beforehand that it is a sequel. Well, you wouldn’t want to reiterate the whole part 1, right? Just tell him you’ll borrow the part 1 next time so he can watch it.
2. Do not watch any foreign film with subtitle in it with him; dads have tendencies of reading aloud every word.
3. Should you feel like watching sexy romantic movies, make sure your dad isn’t home. You wouldn’t want to receive another dose of his sermon, right? And chances are, you’ll end up always fast forwarding when there are kissing and bed scenes. Mwahaha. Read the rest of this entry »
