The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Wednesday that global fast food chain McDonald’s, in cooperation with the the Department of Education (DepEd) under the 2012 Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES),  will offer summer jobs for students.  A total of 3,900 SPES beneficiaries will have a chance to work with one of the country’s leading fast food chains.

Requirements for the 2012  McDonald’s SPES:

1. Duly accomplished SPES Application Form
2. Copy of birth certificate or any document that shows his/her date of birth
3. Certification by the School Registrar/Form 138/original class cards
4. Copy of latest Income Tax Return of parents or BIR certificate for exempted parents; and
5. Certificate of good moral character issued by the baranggay (for out-of-school youth)

The first batch of successful SPES hires for McDonald’s branches in Metro Manila will be deployed on April 10 until June 20, 2012.

According to the Department of Education (DepEd) central office (through their website), 150 employment slots are available to accommodate qualified student applicants for the 20112 Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).

SPES is an annual summer employment program spearheaded by the DepEd which allows students to spend their summer worthwhile by earning extra.

Qualified applicants will be employed for forty (40) days and will be paid minimum wage, 60% of which will be paid by DepEd and 40% by DOLE.  DepEd SPES will also be given an additional daily allowance on top of their salaries.

Qualifications:

1. Applicants must be 15-25 years old
2. Applicants must be enrolled this school year or if not, must have intention to enroll next school year
3. The combine annual net income of both parents must not exceed P143,000.
4. Applicants must have passed all the subjects during the current school year.
5. Applicants must possess office skills with priority given to those with computer-related skills.

Requirements:

1. biodata/resume with 2 x 2 recent photo
2. self-assessment form
3. birth certificate
4. Income tax returns of both parents. If non-filers of ITR, they must bring an affidavit duly certified by the BIR that the annual net income of both parents does not exceed P143,000.

For college students-applicants:

1. recent grades
2. school registration preferably in the second semester;

For high school students:

1.  form 138 preferably with fourth grading marks

1. grades available before dropping out of school
2. Certificate of Indigence issued by the barangay where OSY resides.

Submission of application started last March 1 and will end on March 28.  To apply for registration, students must first like the Facebook fanpage ofwww.facebook.com/csca.deped Applicants must answer the self-assessment test  provided in the fanpage and email  it to depedspes@gmail.com. The DepEd will email back the schedule of interview and the applicant’s control number which the applicant must print and bring during the scheduled interview.

The online search for decisions on college freshman applications for SY 2012-2013 will be available today, Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 12:00 PM according to the Ateneo de Manila University website.

The list of passsers will not be posted online but similar to other entrance examinations from other major universities, the results and status of applications can be determined using their online admission database via http://ls.ateneo.edu/acet_results.php. Currently, the website is not working due to surge of traffic on search for the ACET 2012 Results.   ‘Unofficial’ results, which are actually photographed director’s list posted at the Blue Eagle Gym, are available at the AJMA Shindig 2012. 

The Office of Admission and Aid announced on the school’s official Facebook account that the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) for SY 2012-2013 will be administered again this Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm at the High School campus. Around 1,300 examinees are expected to troop to the testing center.

The  Mindanao State University System Admission and Scholarship Examination (MSU SASE) for school year 2012-2013  was released on January 11, 2012 and can be accessed online via the official MSU IIT website.

The MSU-SASE is given once a year to incoming freshmen for admission to tertiary-level courses in different MSU schools. It also results to grant of scholarship to those who would be classified as among the top 20 examinees, or to being grantees for the 3-yr engineering technology courses.

The application status will be given after you entered the data needed.  If you Passed  you can already confirm your slot.  If it remarks For Interview, you have to undergo interview for your chosen program’s admission process.  If it says On Waiting List, your scores have qualified you for your chosen program. Unfortunately, you chose a quota course and the limited number of slots have already been filled up.  If it says Academic Placement, your score made the university’s cut-off grade even if your score have not qualified for your chosen program. If you Did not Qualify, it means you have to try your luck with other institutions.

The official page for the results of USTET 2012-2013 is currently not available due to the surge of traffic after the release of results has been announced.  It may be back after few days or they say access it in the morning.  However, to confirm your application status, you can contact UST’s Office for Admissions at +632 406.1611 local 8276 or +632 309.7211.  The official UST Page says that the results will be officially released on January 18, 2012.
