PIA and Bulacan Government Websites Hacked
It seems that even in the cyberworld, some people from China show how much they grieved over, understandably, the Manila Hostage Crisis, which happened few days ago, which claimed the lives of 8 Hongkong tourists. Two of the government websites were hacked. The website of the government’s main information agency, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), was hacked by a user named “7z1″ which happened days after a hacker who claims to be from China, hacked a page from the Bulacan website, demanding an apology from the Philippine government from last weeks Manila Hostage Crisis at the Quirino Grandstand.
This incident should cause alarm to the Philippine government to secure its websites, as this was not the first time that had happened. A similar incident of hacking was also experienced by the TESDA website early this year.

Office of the President’s New Website
Even in the online world, President Noynoy Aquino or commonly known as P-noy, is serious about revamping everything associated with the previous president. The president’s website has it’s new domain at http://www.president.gov.ph/. Previously, the Office of the President’s website was www.op.gov.ph. When accessing the latter, visitors are redirected to the new domain. This has not been officially launched. It is said to be activated at noon on Monday.
Nothing has been said about its content, but I assume it will have some news about the projects of the president and other official business of the Office of the President. I hope they include a comment page on each article or a contact-us page maybe so everyone can send their comments, grievances, salutations, etc. to the new president.

State of the Nation Address of President Benigno S. Aquino III Full Transcript and Videos

- Image via Wikipedia
Here is the excerpt of President Noynoy Aquino’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) held at Batasang Pambansa just this afternoon (July 26, 2010).

What you should know about May 10, 2010 Presidential Elections?
This coming presidential election was said to be a historical one because it will be this country’s first automated election.
How does te automated voting differ from our traditional way of voting? A great article from Nelly Favis-Villafuerte of Manila Bulletin cited differences between this forthcoming May 10, 2010 Presidential Elections and the previous elections we had and what you should know about the new system.
No “replacement” ballot will be issued to any voter whose first ballot is invalidated for any reason – unlike in the past elections (manual voting) when a second ballot is issued in case the first ballot is invalidated by reason of erasures, markings or for any other reason. Hence, the urgency of knowing how to fill up the official ballot correctly.
• In the past elections (manual voting), no names of candidates were written in the official ballots. In the forthcoming May 10, 2010 (automated voting) elections, the names of candidates are pre-printed in the official ballots.
For further reading, go to On May 10th… let’s vote.
