The HP Mini 1000 Netbook

Hewlett-Packard company leaked some pictures of their upcoming netbook to join the netbook bandwagon.  It’s called the HP Mini 1000 Netbook.  Liliputing.com has managed to grab some pictures of this anticipated netbook which appeared on HP Shopping last Sunday.

HP Mini 1000 Netbook is said to be a sequel of HP 2133 Mini-Note PC, one of the considered best netbooks because it has better specs and features compared to competitors.

It could be my primary consideration if I have decided to replace my old HP Compaq Presario C500.

Jeez, I just blogged about it a while ago if the concert if Rihanna and Chris Brown in the Philippines will push through or it could just be a rumor.  But when I visited the Multiply site of the Good Times show of Mo Twister, I read a fan comment regarding the concert and it says, this great concert will push through on November 16, 2008.

Ticketworld.com.ph still has to give details about the concert and the tickets.  For more information, visit their website.

Could the Rihanna and Chris Brown concert in the Philippines be just a rumor?

The Filipino fans of these two famous artists were gleed when the rumors came out that these two will be coming to the Philippines for a joint concert.  It has been said that the said concert will be some time in October or early November.

Originally, it was a solo Chris Brown tour but rumors circulated that he will be tagging along Rihanna.  As a big fan of these two artists, I was also happy with this good news.  I have been asked also by some friends and visitors of the blog if the concert will push through.  I visited the official sites of these two artists to see the schedule.  To my dismay, the Chris on Tour schedule posted in the forums does not include the Philippines.

So could the concert be just a rumor?  Hope we find out soon.

Ateneo Blue Eagles Defeated De Lasalle Green Archers on Game 1

And I’m so happy.   The game earlier has proven that Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles is truly this UAAP season’s number 1.

Al Hussaini brought out his best play so far.  Chris Tiu surprisingly had foul troubles, fortunately, it did not affect the scoring.

Rabah Al-Hussaini, one of this season’s top Most Valuable Players (MVP) contenders powered Ateneo’s unstoppable assault blasting a total of 31 points and nine rebounds.

Displaying once again a dominant and fast-paced game, the Blue Eagles reminded the Green Archers that they are this season’s number one team firing an impressive 42.4 field goal percentage compared to La Salle’s meager 28.6 percent.

Where to get Free Medical and Nursing E-books?

One of the problems medical student are encountering is the availability of medical e-books needed for their study. The unavailability of medical textbooks was either due to either two things: the medical book is not literally available in the bookstore or lack of funds to purchase. As a medical student, I must say that one of the costly aspect of medical education are the textbooks. Good thing that the books we need and commonly use like the Harrison’s Internal Medicine, Nelson’s Pediatrics, Guyton’s Physiology, Harper’s Biochemistry, etc.

Nursing students also have similar case with medical students regarding cost and unavailability of nursing books,

I come up with a list of the sites that let you download free medical and nursing e-books:

How I got through with expenses at med school?

Before I entered medical school, I have already anticipated about the expenses it will entail. I have applied for several scholarships but I was not qualified to most of them because of my parents’ income. Also, I belong to the mediocre, so my grades usually could not meet the cut off for these scholarships. I wanted to apply for Pinoy MD Program by the Department of Health, but the program was offered during our third year and it exclusively catered to indigenous people (well, I could qualify to it because I’m a Maranao), local health workers, barangay health workers, Department of Health employees or their children.

My parents are the sole provider for my books and sometimes, I feel guilty that at my age, they still provide me everything. I should be working at 23. I wanted to help my parents so I started exploring possibilities to help them.

Flashback: Why I thought the internet was evil?

Another one of my Xanga entries: Why I think thought the internet was evil?

Internet is EVIL, don’t you think?

1. It’s a huge temptation. I need not cite examples why did I say so.

2. It’s time-wasting. Imagine?! You were just chatting with some friends, posting on message boards, blogging, and visiting some sites and then you suddenly came to your mind, cursing yourself because you already spent 7-straight hours in front your PC. “Stupid! It’s our session tomorrow yet I didn’t bother to read some of our topics. Study now, bitch!” But when you scan your books and encounter some boring words, especially those that requires you to get a dictionary and search them up, you’ll feel sleepy. Sometimes, unknowingly because maybe your eyes are tired, you fall asleep that when you woke up, you were late for school already!

3. It’s costly. One of our parents’ monthly habits are nagging about the internet bill, especially when you’re using broadband connection. You can still hear the voice of your mom, half-yelling, “Because of this, *holding the bill* you’ll have a 10% less from your allowance.” But it’s fine with us, as long as we have internet connection. We can endure the nagging and a less from our allowance but we can’t endure the thought that we’ll be offline for months.

4. It ruins some lives. When you have ample time, why don’t you try visit some internet cafês, you would think for a moment that you’re at a war zone. But all you see are students, busy clicking the mouse, playing Counter-Strike.

Iamjammed.com - My Personal Blog

I started blogging with my personal life and experiences, insights, using the free service of Xanga.com few years back. I was enjoying it because I got to interact with many Xanga-ers (Xanga users), and some of them even became my constant contact these past days. Through it, I’ve also learned every detail of blogging. It also helped me a lot to improve on my writing. I admit that writing was one of my weakest and hatest until Xanga taught me to love it. I even dubbed my self as a CXA or Certified Xanga Addict.

For the past several days after acquiring this free domain from my current web host, Webhostingbuzz.com, I’ve been thinking what will be the best niche for this blog. So I have come up with a Technology blog. However, I realized that I am already blogging about techie stuff in my main blog so it was not a wise choice.

Setting up a mobile and technology forum was the second option. However, I dismissed the idea after remembering that my first attempt to run a post-to-host forum was a failure. Until I arrived with my last and final choice - to set up a personal blog.

Jammed: Full into Capacity was initially set up for a personal blog; that’s why, if you noticed, there were several disorganized categories in my sidebar. However, I was inspired by several bloggers’ experience on making money through blogging, so I started monetizing my blog by lying low from personal blogging and focusing more on several interesting topics like freebies and contests, techie stuff, tips etc, which can drive more organic traffic from search engines.

Today, I will be back to personal blogging using this domain. i will be blogging about my personal life and experiences, insights, and hospital duties. I hope you’d enjoy reading my blog.
