How I got through with expenses at med school?
Jan 22, 2008 Blogging, Education, Internet, Making Money Online
Before I entered medical school, I have already anticipated about the expenses it will entail. I have applied for several scholarships but I was not qualified to most of them because of my parents’ income. Also, I belong to the mediocre, so my grades usually could not meet the cut off for these scholarships. I wanted to apply for Pinoy MD Program by the Department of Health, but the program was offered during our third year and it exclusively catered to indigenous people (well, I could qualify to it because I’m a Maranao), local health workers, barangay health workers, Department of Health employees or their children.
My parents are the sole provider for my books and sometimes, I feel guilty that at my age, they still provide me everything. I should be working at 23. I wanted to help my parents so I started exploring possibilities to help them.
1. Online Scholarships are appealing however these are limited to US citizens.
2. Student loans. These, too, could help but aside from its limited availability, I’ve read several student loan scams.
3. Started exploring means of making money online. I joined several PTC programs until I learned how to earn from blogging. Now I am earning $150-200 per month through Adsense, and $30-50 from text link ads and advertising. At least now, I could buy the books and instruments I need for my studies with my own money.
